Installing

SPDT sometimes gets stuck in a reboot loop whilst installing the driver. To work around the problem:

  1. reboot in Safe Mode (hold down F8) while booting into Windows,
  2. open regedit and navigate to HKLM→System→CurrentControlSet→Services and locate the spdt folder,
  3. change permissions to grant full access to the current user by taking ownership of the key,
  4. delete the spdt key,
  5. delete C:\Windows\System32\drivers\spdt.sys,
  6. reinstall SPDT in safe mode,
  7. reboot
