Accessing Google Mail using IMAP and SMTP

Google Mail can still be accessed to this date via IMAP and SMTP by creating an application password and then using the generated password instead of the Google log-in password to configure the E-Mail account.

In order to access the account, TLS has to be used for the IMAP connection and port 993, whilst the SMTP service will have to be accessed over port 587 and TLS/STARTTLS (or Auto) in the account settings of the E-Mail client.
