Type the board is a small program developed by Wizardry and Steamworks with the sole purpose of typing out the clipboard text by simulating key-press events whenever a shortcut key is pressed. The software fills a gap where some solutions exist online, but frequently redirect the user towards solutions that need the user to have some programming or advanced scripting knowledge, such as using AutoIt. Otherwise, the program is designed to stay out of the way of the user in the background and run within the notification tray.

One of the widespread anti-patterns of user-interface design is the choice of some creators to disable the copy & paste functionality. Sometimes, this is justified in terms of security, where copying and pasting a password would be deemed too insecure, in the sense that the user should type out the password themselves (for instance, second password confirmation). Other times, software relies on the user typing out some text manually, with copying an pasting deemed unsuitable to the application. Regardless of the reason, "Type The Board" is a little piece of software that runs in the background and re-enables pasting text simply by simulating keyboard strokes, as if the user is typing the text manually.

Using the application is just a matter of going to the settings, binding a shortcut key and then selecting some text and pressing the shortcut key in order to make "Type the Board" repeat the keystrokes by using button simulations.
