About

The simple ferrite choke is maybe the best one can do given just a ferrite toroid and the antenna cable. The wiring does not have to be any different than the crossover_common_mode_choke and when done correctly, the choke provides more or less the same sort of protection as the crossover common mode choke without the extras.

In this case the wrapping consists in three turns on each side with the transversal cable connecting both sides. Incidentally, this wrap is also perhaps the best one to make that would allow you to keep the antenna jacks as they are without having to cut the cable.

Using some zip locks to hold the cable down helps - remember that ideally the cable should be wrapped as close as it can to the ferrite core, however there is a point of diminishing returns where wrapping the cable too close to the ferrite might bend the cable too much and destroy the cable with little extra gains.
