A file can be created at ID1/autoexec.cfg containing commands line-by-line to be executed whenever Quake starts.
The original Quake installation CD at about version 1.06 contains the PAK files necessary to run Quake but they are not accessible without installing Quake in the first place. Installing Quake is more than likely not possible because the original CD is meant for 32-bit systems and will not run under more recent Windows versions.
However, it is possible to use the "7zip File Manager" to open up the RESOURCE.1 file on Windows because the RESOURCE.1 file is packed with LHA. In fact, if you own an Amiga, it should be possible to extract the RESOURCE.1 file natively.
