About

Some games lack an auto-run feature and require that the shift key be pressed in order to run. With some help from AutoIt, the keybinding can be unbound and then the provided script used to hold down the shift key, thereby making the character run.

The program minimizes to the tray and waits for caps lock to be activated. Once caps lock is activated, the program holds the shift key down and does not release it until caps lock is deactivated. Binding to caps lock events is ideal since both keys fulfil the same function.

Installation and Usage

  1. Double click AutoRunSFX.exe to extract the AutoRun.exe binary and toss AutoRunSFX.exe.
  2. Move AutoRun.exe to some convenient location on your hard-drive.
  3. Double-click AutoRun.exe and a new tray icon should appear - no further action is needed, you can use caps lock to toggle the autorun feature in games.

The program conveniently adds a menu to the tray icon that allows you to disable the feature temporarily by selecting the Off radio menu item.

Usage Scenarios

The AutoRun program works great for the Warframe game where there is no setting for autorun. To achieve the perfect setting, bind the Shift key to the Run/Roll setting in the Warframe game options. Then keep AutoRun resident in the system tray and toggle caps lock for autorun. similarly, you can double press Shift to roll.
