RegName is a batch file rename utility based on regular expressions mainly designed to rename entire collections of files based on sequential patterns.

The sourcecode can be checked out using Subversion from:

for instance, by using the Subversion command line and issuing:

svn co http://svn.grimore.org/RegName/trunk RegName

• Drag and drop files onto the program to load the files.
• Enter a regular expression in the Search box that should match all or part of the files.
  • The search box will change its background color if the regular expression is invalid.
• Enter a replacement in the Replace box to apply to all the files.
• The program will offer a preview of the files to be renamed.
• Click the Rename button to batch-rename all the files.
