Using a registry editor or a remote registry editor such as Registry Workshop, the application launch order on startup can be viewed by navigating the registry hive to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE→init
where the boot order is defined by a series of defined string variables composed of the string Launch
and ending in a number. On bootup, applications will be launched in order, starting from the lowest number and ending with the highest number. For example, the path corresponding to the string value Launch20
will be launched, followed by Launch30
, followed by Launch50
, etc.
