The color block puzzle in Lufia inside the dungeon after the King's crown has been stolen is a little difficult due to some of the color blocks not being a multiple of three. In succinct terms, the trick is to align color blocks that are not multiples of three in pairs of two and then use the extra remaining block to slide between the pairs resulting in a line of five. Basically, the yellow blocks can be eliminated in pairs of three whilst all the other colors will require a line of five to be eliminated.
Note that the video above does not represent an unique solution.
The yellow and red block puzzle consists in arranging yellow and red blocks, under the rule that a block placed between two blocks of the other color turns to the other color, in order to make all the blocks the same color, in this case incidentally yellow, such that the door to the next level will open.
The rule is laid out in a room with a very simple and illustrative puzzle that precedes a more difficult puzzle.
It seems that there is one single solution to the puzzle which turns out to involve moving blocks on the inside of the geometry in order to form a straight and diagonal line thereby turning all the blocks yellow.
Nevertheless, as it turns out, it seems that the rule is incomplete such that multiple solutions would have been possible. For instance, the following sequence, iff. the rule would be complete, should be a valid solution provided that the rule applies till no other blocks can be changed.
Similarly, the following sequence has no reason not to work, unless the additional information is provided that blocks will not color unless the encasing color moves last.
