Smaller Tooling Bracelet

Using the same procedure as the tooling bracelet with payer beads a smaller version can be built for smaller devices.

The difference compared to the tooling belt is that the small satchel is attached to the main wrist strap via a small piece of leather at the back of the pouch. Compared to a pouch created for a camera, this pouch does not need to be rotated around, such that belt-slide mechanism is better suited.

It is still possible to expand the bracelet by adding other pouches that would be attached the very same way.

Making a Camera Pouch

One more project on the side has been to make a pouch or leather wrapper for a bicycle camera namely the Japanese Akeeyo Aky-710S camera. Compared to the rest of the pouches there have been no significant new skills applied, just perhaps in the sewing of the back leather cover that was performed with the camera held within the pouch.

The procedure is to punch holes in both the back cover and the rest of the camera pouch, right on the rim and even if the holes will not line up perfectly, by holding the camera inside the pouch while sewing, there is much better feedback provided allowing the leather to be stitched together perfectly.

One interesting followup here would be to attempt and glue a transparent lens to the front cover, with a matching hole for the camera lens, in order to be able to use the camera with the cover on. However, for now, this should provide a decent sheath for the camera that adds to the overall protection.

As planned, there are small windows available to purchase that are typically meant for watch repairs but seem to fit this application flawlessly. As a one-off, some two-part epoxy is used in order to glue the window to the leather and then the result is left to dry up.

The rest of the build seems rather straightforward and it was chosen to make the cover removable from the front of the camera by creating a cap with two straps on the side that can be attached and detached if necessary.
